Flores Island
Flores is
one of the Lesser Sunda Islands, an island arc with an estimated
area of 14,300 kmē extending east from the Java island of Indonesia.
The population is estimated to be around 1.5 million, and the
largest town is Maumere.
Flores is located east of Sumbawa and Komodo and west of Lembata and
the Alor Archipelago. To the southeast is Timor. To the south,
across the Sumba strait, is Sumba and to the north, beyond the
Flores Sea, is Sulawesi.

Labuan Bajo-West Flores
Situated
at the westernmost tip of the island, the picturesque fishing
village of Labuan Bajo is a convenient staging area for visits to
Komodo, other dive sites along the coast, and for exploring the
island of Flores. Labuan Bajo has money changing and ATM facilities,
and a selection of good-value seafood restaurants.

Komodo Island - Komodo National Park
The home of the world's largest
lizard, the Komodo Dragon, the island of Komodo is located a short
boat ride from Labuan Bajo. Now a fully protected conservation area,
Komodo offers numerous opportunities for guided treks into the
interior to view the abundance animal and bird life and, of course,
the occasional dragon. A fortunate coincidence of ocean currents and
underwater topography has created an exceptional degree of marine
biodiversity: more species of fish are found in the coral reefs near
Komodo than in all the rivers and lakes of Europe.

Rinca Island - Komodo National Park
Rincah,
also known as Rinca, is a small island near Komodo island, East Nusa
Tenggara, Indonesia. The island is famous for komodo dragons, giant
lizards that can measure up to three meters (ten feet) long. Rincah
is also populated with many other species such as wild pigs,
buffalos and many birds.
